Four hours from start to finish. The longest break I took was one of about a minute to cope with the fact that I was facing the epilogue.
( spoilers for this and also, hilariously, for Last of the Time Lords and um the Dark is Rising and Narnia and other stuff )
The little brother's reading it downstairs, if he hasn't fallen asleep or finished it; he refused to even return to his room to read it, maybe knowing that my parents would come in and turn the light off if he tried. Tomorrow morning we'll talk it through in hushed whispers when my dad isn't in the room, because he hasn't read it yet, since we co-opted his copies.
I got this book when I was younger than Harry. I have grown older than him and still loved every word, even the horrible ones about snogging in Half-Blood Prince. I feel like I've been to the last Beatles concert, caught the freighter coming from England: "Is little Nell dead?"
Thank you, J. K. Rowling. For the bollocks and the beautiful bits and everything.
